The indie alternative pop talent Rachel Chinouriri shares her latest single “It Is What It Is.” Hailing from London, the artist previews her last single ahead of her long-awaited debut album What A Devastating Turn of Events out May 3rd. As an artist on the rise, Chinouriri continues to captivate listeners with her heartfelt and mesmerizing songwriting.

The release points to the frustrations and overwhelming uncertainty over a confusing romantic relationship. Chinouriri repeats “You should've told me you had doubts about it” in the chorus reflecting the utter despair in her voice. The use of exasperated spoken words in the verses plays a part in the themes of the track and the upcoming record—dealing with topics surrounding loneliness, relationships, regret, and more.

“I’ve learned I’m responsible for how I allow men to treat me because they feel I’m worthless enough to be treated that way and it’s a big F U to them as I’ve not discovered how much I deserve,” shares Chinouriri. The artist’s real-life experiences have now shaped her into who she is today. She mentions that the record is meant for healing and reflects how she learned to adapt to her hardships.

Up-and-coming Rachel Chinouriri is a fierce, brutally honest singer-songwriter. The release of What A Devastating Turn of Events is the pinnacle of Chinouriri’s experiences, explored through sonically riveting harmonies and acoustics. We’re eager to see Chinouriri blossom and see her artistic journey unfold!
